Anyone bought a UNI-T UT210E Recently
« on: September 02, 2022, 04:46:28 am »
Looking for a clamp meter for the car so I can keep my inside one nice and clean.

I have a UT210E and I like it. The clamp is on the small side for use in the car, but I can live with that for the price.

Or so I thought. This one on ebay is the cheapest I see on the usual websites. It's about AUD 50 (USD 35), but it could be too cheap according to the other listings.

Has anyone else bought one recently? How much is a fair price these days?

The going rate is $47 on aliexpress.
So $35 is a fair bit cheaper than that.

But the seller has good ratings, might be worth a try.

Not sure from your opening post if you are in Oz or NZ because of the AUD in it? If you are in Oz you will need to load 10% GST on top of any import price for a start for low value imports which puts you at closer to $57 AUD. Unsure if NZ has the same low value import tax arrangements now?

Since evilbay and the federal farce decided to get their GST on everything at all costs to the sellers it is often cheaper/faster to buy locally where the price is Tax included. This listing for example is ex Sydney (claimed but might not be) at $62'ish but if you happen to have Evilbay Plus then it drops to $57 with the current voucher. eBay auction: #273921398707

As to the 210E itself do it they are a great bit of kit to have in your toolbag  :-+

NZ. The price just happened to be what ebay chose to show me. Over here you just have to deal with a few other currencies because our supply if pretty much anything is pretty much nada.

Not as bad as you, but somehow NZ convinced all the well known Chinese outlets to collect GST for them, so no avoiding it on ebay

Ha! Won't ship to NZ. Never mind. I just offered the 1st guy AUD 90 for two. I'll keep you posted.

Agree. AND I was having a peruse through the giant 210E thread and I see the community has quite thoroughly documented how to hack it. In particular I can fix my favourite complaint: It defaults to AC current.

Just to finish this off; I finally grabbed a couple from the guy in my first post.

They appear to work fine and be legit, although I didn't open them. Took just over a fortnight to get to NZ from deep in China somewhere, which seems pretty good for post covid shipping. Paid AU51 ea.
