Topward 7045 Oscilloscope - BNC attached to front panel?
« on: June 19, 2020, 07:18:30 am »
Hi,

I've recently acquired this rather nice 40Mhz Topward 7045 (looks to me a bit like Trio Kenwood). Both channels were not working at the start.

After reseating some connectors, ch2 is now working, ch1 only pos is working but no signal. Reason was easily found: the connection to the BNC is broken. However, as I started to take it apart and wanted to remove the front bezel for cleaning, I have a problem with the BNC connectors:
* the BNCs are screwed from the inside
* the plastic bezel seems to be screwed from the front to the metal bezel (see image 3, screw left from BNC)
* the BNCs for the channels are soldered to the main PCB

Any good ideas on how to remove the front bezel? Just unsolder both channels and resolder them later? It's a bit cramped in the corner where ch2 is so I'm hesitating.

TIA,
Didi

OK, so I decided to just spray some Tuner600 into the pots, solder ch1, be done with it and see how it looks. Still have no idea how to remove the front panel for a thorough cleaning :-(

For the sake of TEA, I included 2 more photos..
