Arm mount for oscilloscope - does it exist?

I'm looking for a better solution for mounting my oscilloscope (Rigol DS1000 series - fairly slim and lightweight) as space on my desk is at a premium. Is there some kind of generic clamp mount out there that I can use to attach my scope to a monitor arm or something along those lines? Thinking of designing and 3D printing one specific to my scope that would mate with a standard VESA monitor arm, but first wanted to check and see if something already exists.

Didn't show up in the first page of the search for "oscilloscope mount" but I've definitely seen one posted here somewhere.  If I remember right, it was a monitor mount or something with an adapter plate for the back of the scope?

I've seen that, but I think that's actually for a different, older model of scope and it's been long since discontinued.

The Rigol DS1000 is actually a bit of a pain to design the mount for, since the case has these weird molded angles in it. Why couldn't they just stick with the tried-and-true rectangular box?

Some Tektronix scopes come with VESA mounting holes so the idea isn't totally alien.

Unless the mfg put in vesa mounting just about forget it.. you are going to end up fabbing your own.. i mean think about it... what product can you sell that ISNT a generic small table on an arm?

A table with a box around it? All the options are cheese in those flavors..  if you use arms you either get to pick vesa or a table top or fab your own to match whatever it is you want to mount / integrate (this is what a lot of chinese do as well since they have hoards of generic cheap parts for making fixtures.. but again.. all custom designs for whatever)

An L-shaped bracket (like a bookend) drilled on the upright part for a vesa mount should give you what you need. Unlike a laptop shelf, the support will come from the back and the shlf itself will be unobtrusive (especially if you cut it to match the scope width).

Any sort of "arm" is going to cost a fortune.

How about a shelf 6" above the bench... will hold more than the 'scope, too!

I'm gonna have a crack at this for my MSO 5074 soon, the gas counterlevered monitor arms are actually pretty cheap these days. Figuring out the best way to attach to the back of the scope is going to be the hard part as it looks like flimsy plastic from the back.

Good luck, aint gonna be easy, doesnt come more flimsy than MSO5000series backcase even when pursing the smallest VESA Std (75mm -2) and Not even sure it will be sufficient to DIY-metalplate it behind the plastic, perhaps..

Maybe you can use some top and bottom grapper approach, bull will complicate it both lookwise and design but would love to see ur final build..
Used lot of these monitorarms back, in the day for day trading screens, nowadays I tend to use one big 55" LG OLED TV as a deskmonitor for all the tradetickers and qoutedepths and its a blast to game on or watch movies..

Probably the same product manager that came up with the stand for the Apple monitor.

The original poster does have a legit question though, why haven't the instrument makers standardized on one of the VESA mount patterns?    This is a good question for HPAK, Tek, Rigol and whom ever else is out there.   As stuff has become much smaller traditional bench layouts don't make as much sense as they did in the past.   Yard long scopes are a thing of the past.
