ASL F-100 teardown
« on: December 28, 2016, 09:58:28 am »
We use those meters - http://www.isotechna.com/F100-Precision-Thermometer-p/f100.htm - at work a lot, while doing some maintenance I couldn't resist to take a look inside before it was sent for recalibration.

Unopened, yet. Few screws later, I can see what's inside

Cable management

And some more

The analog part of main board with nice precise resistor in metal can (metal film type?).

There is a few of MAX4575 analog switches

well, more than a few

And the digital one

ADS1210, apparently the main ADC chip

PIC18F8720 as the brains

Daughterboard with LCD and driver, connected via rainbow cable

Oh, another shot of ADS1210

Looks like quite solid design, no bodge wires, though the wires from connectors to PCB look a bit untidy.
