Title: ATTEN ADS 1102CAL Invalid USB Descriptor
Post by: PostNubila on May 21, 2016, 02:09:50 pm
Hi,

I have a ATTEN ADS 1102CAL (with no plus sign) which have the following configuration:

Firmware version 3.01.01.31
Hardware version: 6-41-2.1

I connected it to my laptop with Windows 7 (32-bit), installed the driver and Easyscope and everything worked fine.

Now, I'm trying to connect it to another laptop with Windows 10 (64-bit) and I'm not able to install its driver.

Windows device manager shows the following:

Unknown USB Device (invalid configuration descriptor)

So, my questions are:

Have you guys experienced the same issue?
Did you find any solution?
Is it possible to install it under Windows 10 or I have to keep a laptop with Windows 7 if I want to use Easyscope?

Thank you in advance,
Stanley.

With Win 7 & 8 (don't know 10) you must have NI VISA installed FIRST as the USB drivers are NI supplied.

The installed driver will have a filename something like ausbtmc.inf
Find it with a search, more than likely in the installed NI directory and make sure the scopes USB properties/driver  points to that driver.

Hope that helps.

Attached is a doc on USB connection problems that I wrote some time ago with a link to a thread.
