Now what is that glass tube part? Is it a crystal or a precise resistor?

Really interesting, thanks for sharing. I love Soviet-era (& early 90's Russian) products, they're interesting to me.
As for the glass tube, maybe a fuse or something? It kinda looks like a neon bulb, too, but I don't know what it'd be doing in a multimeter.

Looks like crystal, there should be a rectangle die inside. BTW IC is a clone of ICL7106 which was made on Alfa factory (no longer exists) in Riga, few km away from me.

Thanks for the pixs. I believe the glass tube is a crystal. Several are floating around on ebay.
