Title: Bandpass sweeps with HP 8903
Post by: nickm on March 14, 2014, 03:57:45 am
I found out today that there are a whole bunch of special functions for the HP 8903 listed in the service manual which aren't listed in the normal operating manual.  The most interesting one to me is the 44.3 which uses the bandpass filter instead of the notch filter.  What I'd like to do is sweep the bandpass filter without the generator to measure the noise floor of stuff the same way that you can with the Audio Precision analyzers.  54.X sets the course frequency of the notch filter from 0-255 but you have to look up in a table what each value corresponds to.  The manual says see Service Sheet 3 for more information, but I was not able to find this.  There is also a 53.X that affects the notch frequency but again you need the Service Sheet 3 to find out exactly what it does.  Does anybody have any experience with this?  Is it possible to do bandpass sweeps?
