I decided to pick up a set of Data probes for the SDS2204 I have and noticed Batronix offered a Option Promo (pic) where when you by the SPL1008 Logic Probe (~$180 USD)
and the Logic Analyzer Option SDS-2000-LA (~$120 USD) you get the Decode/Trigger Option SDS-2000-DC and Function Gen Option SDS-2000-FG for free. Well seeing as I was
going to buy the LA Option and Cable it would be nice to get the other two thrown in.
The order just came today, and all that was included in the box was the SPL1008, and 4 identical invoices. No mention of Serial Codes for unlocking the options etc... I did include
my Serial Number during checkout like the item suggested if not buying a new Scope with the Option Promo.
Here's my question (I already have a ticket in with Batronix asking what / how are the codes transmitted or delivered to the customer):
How are these serials typically give out for Siglent because I've dealt with other manufacturer options through Canadian dealers and most of the time it's through email/phone for
pretty much instant activation. Did the 'official' hard copies of these codes go missing during shipment or am I just not savvy to how Siglent/Batronix does this??
Thanks to anyone who knows... (My first time dealing with Batronix)

To have "paid for" options enabled permanently your local dealer will need both the serial # of your scope and the scope ID #, these are found in the System Status sub menu in Utilities menu.
These 2 code/#'s will then be sent to Siglent HQ.
Siglent HQ will then generate a unique Hexidecimal code that you will need to enter in the Options sub menu to convert the options from either trial or expired to permanent.

I didn't know that and only gave the SN on the back of the unit during checkout on their website.
So Siglent will be the one sending the Unique codes for unlocking. And if so why hasn't Batronix asked for anything to send to them. I've paid for the item and the codes, and
all I received is the hardware?! I smell a 'I'm going to get screwed' :palm: moment coming up. I'll give them (Batronix) a chance to look everything over before I assume anything.
Thanks

It is quite likely if Batronix sent your SN to Siglent HQ they might be able to look up the ID#, however whenever I've done this "option purchase" process I've always supplied the scope ID#.
This info IS buried in the 50+ page SDS2000 thread and you are excused for not finding it. ;)
I'll suggest to Siglent that a brief "getting options" guideline be added to the scope's internal Help and the User Manual as it is not documented anywhere that I can see.
I smell a 'I'm going to get screwed' :palm: moment coming up.
Not while I'm watching you won't.

Well much appreciated for that. I'll try and attach the 12 digit Scope ID on the ticket I already sent them. Funny thing happened when I started
up the scope to get the info. EVERYTHING is in Deutsch (wonder if that's firmware v2 issue?) lol... Thankfully finding the Language settings isn't too difficult.
Much appreciated tautech.

***Update: Batronix forwarded the Serials to me, unfortunately none of them work... possibly because of my recent v2 firmware update. We'll see how this pans out lol.
****Update 2: Batronix and Siglent have been very good in helping me get this resolved. New keys have been sent and they all worked fine.
