BM235 Cannot Change Temperature Units
« on: March 01, 2021, 03:08:48 pm »
Hey All,

I was doing some temperature profiling on some parts last week, and had both my 121gw and BM235 setup, I normally operate in degrees C but my BM235 was set to degrees F, for the life of me I cannot get the meter to change units, I have pressed the select button, held the select button, reviewed the manual, etc. the meter just will not change units.

The software revision of the meter is d, I don't think the BM235 is updateable like the 121gw is.

The select button works to change range and units on all other ranges. The batteries are good, no leaking is observed. I have removed and reinstalled the batteries. I am at a little bit of a loss here. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

So when you press select it isn't even cycling between mV and temp readings?  It should cycle between AC mV, DC mV, temp C, and temp F?

I have 3 BM235's - 2 with FW C, and one with FW 9 - and all cycle between these with no issues.
You are correct that FW is not end user updatable.

Correct, That is the only location on the meter switch, where the select button does not change units for me.

All other ranges the select button changes the modes correctly.

Why are you are only concerned about C/F not changing when you have no millivolt range whatsoever?

Well the problem at hand has been the degrees C, but I agree not having mv stinks too. Just trying to diagnose.

Also I have many other meters, so not super worried about multiple mV measurements at once at this point
