Best Cheap knockoff Logic Analyzer
« on: December 01, 2020, 11:08:37 pm »
I am looking for a cheap portable USB logic analyzer with good "american" software...

I have paid enough this year in test equipment and feeling covid pinch.

Can somebody point me to the cheapest working solution?

Thank  you.

Bus pirate is one way of doing it. The Digilent digital discovery is a more expensive low-end device, that probably comes with a good software. I havent tried this one, but the company is professional. And there are a bunch of Saleaeaeee clones, that cost like 5 bucks from China.

Yeah I know... Of those crappy things wich one is the "best bang" and fastest.

I dont need 16 channels.

I am just confused by all the offerings... Looking for a "la creme de la creme".

I came to ask this for oscilloscope but its alot simpler...

Search eBay or Ali for something that looks like the attached picture.

Works with Sigrok Pulseview.

I'm using this one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32851287266.html

16 channels @ 12 MHz or 8 channels @ 24 MHz

Software sigrok: https://sigrok.org/wiki/Lcsoft_Mini_Board

They are no good logic analyzers for cheap

https://www.amazon.ca/-/fr/DreamSourceLab-DSLogic-Analyseur-d%C3%A9chantillonnage-interface/dp/B08HRLT8KF/ref=sr_1_2?__mk_fr_CA=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&dchild=1&keywords=dslogic&qid=1606869639&sr=8-2

here is what I am getting

DSLogic pro 16

Basically a non-cheap chinese version of salae, and I cant find a 2nd hand salae pro on ebay for cheap.

I have nothing against chinese gear actually, its ALL GOOD TO ME.

I've got a ZeroPlus Logic Pro. The hardware is decent and pretty good capability, but the software is absolutely terrible. Buggy and frustrating to use (it likes to frequently reset your setup when you change simple things like sample rate, and crashes a lot).

If I get time I might try to build some integration for sigrok to support the device. It is a shame when a good product is held back by buggy software.

I’ve been looking for a logic analyzer also. I haven’t bought one yet but another that caught my attention is the Hantek 4032l - also 400MHz and says it has 2GB of capture. I think it works with sigrok also.

They are about $220AUD on Banggood

Have used one of those, they're umm, ok.

Work better than the Saleae clones, bit flaky in SIGROK, wouldn't play nice under Win 10 (could have been SIGROK) and manufacturer software/firmware support seemed to have stopped a few years ago when I looked so spend a bit of time checking that out before committing.

Let me throw in the Intronix Logicport. Hardware and nice software made in USA, good support. Samples up to 200 / 500 Mhz.
The only drawback: with its small 34x2K memory it is outdated, however it comes with an incredible hardware compression which helps a lot. Due to the sophisticated multi-stage trigger mechanism and the compression, the low memory is often not a problem. Though for extensive protocol analysis the memory is too small and you better look somewhere else.
