Maybe it's time for you to do a 2023 meter shootout.

The Fluke 117 is a 9-volt multimeter. Who knew?

Do you think that is why he stopped reviewing cheap meters?  I was guessing the time vs payback.   Those early videos were pretty funny.

I think she doesn't even have all the meters to review nor she ever used DMM. She just gather information on the internet and wrote her article.
So I give it a 0.

It's a amazon linking special. Not a lot of info just rehash every 6 months and wait for the links to pay off.

So everyone is clear, Calibration = Taking Measurement against a known source, Verification = Checking Calibration against Specification, Adjustment = Adjusting the unit to be within specifications.

The only good thing I see it that there is not 1 best meter, but different choices for different uses / users.
The rest look horrible - not really worth reading.

You can read it could be fun but simply don't believe what the article says.

Dave has his own multimeter brand now, so...  :-//

I've said countless times for people not to just blindly buy my branded meters.
Heck, I've done entire videos devoted to this.
The problem is how to categorise them. Do you do it by price bracket?, counts?, accuracy?, target market?, safety?
The answer is all of the above. You could literally have half a dozen different "best multimeter" shootouts and get a different answer every time.

IMO, you're overthinking it.  The most important metric, "daves".   I personally enjoyed watching you having fun ranting on them all.  Go get em!

The Crenova and Etekcity models may look like bargains, but experienced experts will tell you to always go with genuine Kaiweets.
A 3.5 digit 4.5 digit 5 digit 5.5 digit 6.5 digit 7.5 digit DMM is good enough for most people.

Doesn't quite work like that if you are talking about a shootout. You HAVE to have some sort of commonality to compare them and declare a "winner", otherwise what's the point of shootout? You might as well just do individual reviews in that case.
My last handheld multimeter shootout was 12 years ago and that was based on price bracket.
I did a pocket meter shootout, and that was based on what I deemed to be a "pocket" meter.

Seriously, how do you compare a $20 ANENG to a $500 Fluke?

The point of the shootout is entertainment and "daves" is the common metric.  Being serious isn't a factor.

Rather than trying to find a winner,  pick the worse meters out their and find the worse.   :-DD

As you can see from article, Fluke is the best for premium, but Crenova is better because it is best overall and much more cheaper!  ;D

Yep, waste of time. Joe can do that one himself if he wants.

There's a lot of content out there for pure entertainment. I assume there's decent money in it or the science channels would be top ranking on YT and the networks.

If your goal is presenting unbiased data, I would start with giving the 121GW a fair shakedown.   The old Dave would have had a field day after seeing a shim and so many broken connectors.

I've limited my metrics to robustness and I don't see a problem running a $20 meter against a $1000 meter.   Interesting enough, one of the most electrically robust meters I have looked at was <$50.

LOl, the adsense reveune isn't worth the time put in regardless of what you do. The market for multimeters is kinda limited.
Just simply talking about why Fluke meters are so expensive got an order of magnitude more views that blowing up and destroying meters for fun.

I have had a field day with those issues already, both of which are in the past. What am I supposed to do, spend half a 121GW review wallowing in the past? No thanks.

There's been some changes since 2021:  :)

AstroAI appears twice - obviously a brand to watch!

(or maybe the AI just prefers brands with "AI" in the name)

Kiss analog's electrician's DMM shootout from 2 days ago.

I've never turned any of that stuff on.  My business model has always been a total loss.

I thought you were currently selling the 121GW.   I've had a few people suggest to me that your reputation took a hit for selling such a product.  I'm not sure how you recover from it.  Maybe it doesn't actually have any impact.

Bingo.
You talked about doing something like this at one point.  That's one nice thing about having some standard way of testing them, you remove the bias.  The meters do what they do.   The down side,  sponsor's like Keysight may not like seeing their products do so poorly on so many levels.

So the "best" meter would be the Fluke 17B+?
