Best PSU under $1000?

hello,

I realize this topic has been done to death.  However most of the threads I've found are roughly a year old.  I'm hoping to get more recent information.

I'm looking for the best PSU I can get under $1000.  Here's what I'd like it to include:

1) 3 or 4 channels
2) Low noise, both for the fan and measurements.
3) Low ripple
4) Compact size.  The smaller the better.  I have a small bench area.
5) Nice display with as much useful information on it.

Even though my budget is decent, I don't need unnecessary bells and whistles.  :-// I just want the best bang for my buck.  Something that's reliable and good.
Looking forward to reading your recommendations.
Thank you.

Not much happens in 1 year where it comes to power supplies so just look at the recent threads on this subject.

Has nothing new come out?  Most of the PSU's in the other threads are 5, 6 or 7 years old.  :o

In any case, most of the other threads focus on PSU's below $500 or so.  My budget is slightly higher, so I'm hoping to get an expanded list of recommendations.

thanks

GW instek gpp-4323 is more recent than that.

That GW Instek from above is indeed a good choice. Otherwise the Rigol DP832 is also still a good feature packed PSU.

Not a whole lot has happened in the high end PSU world. It's all still linear PSUs ran by DACs from a digital front panel. The modern units mostly just feature some more up to date remote control interfaces like USB or Ethernet or some better sequencing feature or better measurement (Like energy integration). Tho one unfortunate trend is most PSUs these days having fans inside (This lets them use smaller cheaper heatsinks)

I still keep around some oldschool analog PSU from Agilent on my desk, they are still nice for when you just need a quick 5V for something since they don't have any boot time and no complex UI to fumble trough.
