BK Precision 1901B on/off
(1/1)
FrankBuss:
I bought a BK Precision 1901B, and looks like it works, but why doesn't it have a soft power on/off button as many other power supplies? I guess my fault for not reading the manual carefully.

But looks like it is possible with the remote DIN connector. Thinking about to open it and drill a hole in the front for a button, but this might be a problem for warranty in case it breaks someday. Anyone who has a 190x? How did you solve this problem?

There is also an USB input, haven't looked into it so far, maybe I can control it from PC?

Check out section 5.1.4, "Enable and Disable the Output" in the manual.

For USB, check out the programming manual and associated control software.

Yes, I've read this, and I can build something, and probably glue a button on top to avoid problems with the warranty. Was just wondering why they didn't spend one dollar for an extra button for an 800 dollar power supply, and how others solved it.

I could also feed it to an electronic load I have, which has a button  :)
