| BK Precision 2831E Input Resistor Repair |
| (1/1) |
| apex_seals:
All, I just bought a busted BK 2831E on Ebay. Looks like the PO exceeded the input voltage rating and burned up a high-precision metal film resistor. It's burned up so bad that I can't read one of the color bands... Everything around it checks out OK - no high resistances, no blown caps, no burnt traces, etc. Unit boots and operates fine other than this input resistor. As I can't find a service manual for the thing... anybody mind sending a pic of the inside of their unit so I can see the color bands? It's the three blue 1W metal film resistors up by the input terminals. Measured values would be even better :) Thanks! |

In my 2831E - R101 and R102 are brown-black-black-orange/brown - so 100k 1% - R103 is brown-black-black-brown/brown - so 1k 1% Values confirmed by measurement. I think they are 3W parts. I had to do a repair on mine to fix a short in one of the PT6311 VFD driver ICs (bought as faulty). That caused R203 to burn, so after fixing the short I replaced R203 with with a 100R 1206. |
