Title: BM235, question about Auto V.

On the meter, there is a selection that says: Auto V , Lo(or q)Z.

The reason for my query is that I had started another thread and posted a voltage reading taken with the meter in the Auto V position. A responder posted that I should never use that setting. I never pursued it as it was way off topic.

So here I am wondering if there was any substance to the warning.

A Low-Z range has lower input impedance (May be down to a few kOhm at low voltage), worse precision and may not work at low voltages.
As long as you can accept that, there is no problem using it.

Unless your working on vintage gear, always use Auto B as most voltage readings these days are taken with digital meters having high input impedance.
