Title: BM235 won't switch off - steady 1mA drain
Post by: wjsmarine4342 on August 11, 2021, 05:00:04 am
Hi All,

I have two subject meters both working well but lengthy periods of non use too.  #2 meter was difficult to start (hit and miss) but a fresh set of cells fixed it.

8 weeks later same problem and cells were flat (.9v) whereas #1 still going strong.  I tested #2 with an external 3v supply and measured 5mA running dropping to 1mA with switch off compared to 2mA and 0mA for #1.

Both instruments don't leave the workshop and are treated with respect.  Any ideas what to check next?

Cheers,
Bill

Off should be off.

Take it apart and look for foreign bodies in the selector switch.
