| BM257s multimeter -- disable automatic shutdown? |
| (1/1) |
| ebastler:
The automatic power-down of the Brymen BM257s has fooled me several times today, during an extended circuit re-engineering exercise: In continuity test (beep) mode, the BM257s silently powers off after 15 minutes or so. Apparently this is not an "inactivity timeout", but just a simple timer: The fact that I keep making and breaking connections does not not extend the time. Since I don't look at the meter while tracing connections, I frantically kept probing for connections, wondering why that stupid pin seemed unconnected to anything... I there a way to disable the automatic shutdown, or at least make the meter beep as it shuts down to alert me to the change? (Apologies, this feels like a question that has been asked before; but I could not find anything.) |

Have you read the "Disabling Auto-Power-Off" section of the manual? |

:palm: I had thumbed trough the manual looking for something on the shutdown funtionality, but apparently not carefully enough. Found it now, thanks! |
