Title: BP-Microsystems BP-1400 Device programmer, Help Help, thanks in advance.
Post by: sampler1 on February 22, 2022, 03:56:48 pm
Hi,
I purchased a legacy BP-Microsystems BP-1400 Device programmer and find myself in a bit of a spot.(also paid too much for it)  Bp Microsystems does not support it anymore and I think information won't be available. I wrote them but no answer yet.
On there site I see the software BPWin and it looks like it supports all versions of windows but I have no idea if it supports my BP-1400 Parallel device as it is still in the mail. My guess is I will need the Dos Version  BPDos 3.84a. Also I am trying to find a device list that it can Program.

ANY help at all will be greatly appreciated

Regards.

You want BPWin 4.80.0 (November 11, 2008) or BPDOS v3.94a (January 6, 2006) for a BP-1400 as the last versions of the software to support the LPT interface BP-1400.

In the past the BPM Microsystems software download page had a legacy software section where the final software versions for no longer supported programmers could be downloaded. Older software versions could also be found on their FTP site. Unfortunately the older software versions do not appear to be publicly available on their sites now. Maybe if you sent them an email requesting an old version of the software they would eventually make it available to you. Fortunately there are people who have saved old versions of the software they could make available to you.

I'm not aware of any way to obtain a supported device list for a particular programmer model and a particular software version other than running the software and trying to select a device of interest in the software. If a device programmer is not attached when the software is started, it will run in demo mode where you can try selecting a device of interest.

giovannirat:
Thanks for posting the mirror site.  I was running on some older software, now I have the latest.

There is no way, I know of, to get a printed list of supported devices other than running the application.
I attached a few other documents but there's not much in them.

I have both the BP-1200 and BP-1400 than I run from a Dell Latitude D610 laptop with Windoz 98 XP.  The nice thing about this old laptop is it still has a "true" 25-pin connector Line printer port.  I have had problems in the past trying to run old LPT equipment using USB comparable adapters - many do not live up to their claims.
