Broken 121GW input terminals
« on: September 08, 2023, 03:24:18 pm »
Hi,

I use my EEVBlog 121 GW multimeter regularly with both probes and banana plug leads in test setups.

Now have, because of the use of banana plugs, the insides of the terminals broken off.

There are plastic bushings around the terminals. These both insulate and keep the terminals close fitting to the banana jack.

These bushings have all either split or completely fallen out.

The terminals alltogether form one plastic block with 8 soldering leads.

I tried Brymen if I could buy a replacement to repair my meter but to no avail.

Does anyone know where to get parts for the EEVblog 121 GW?
All I need is the terminal block.

(a broken meter where I can harvest the part would suffice too).

Kind regards,

The 121GW is not made by Brymen, it's made by UEI. It was a custom design by/for Dave and I don't believe UEI directly services/supports users. I'm not sure Dave stocks or supplies parts but you might try contacting him directly, maybe he has a dead meter he'd send you for parts.

The info you need is here: https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/eevblog-121gw-multimeter-issues/msg2792850/#msg2792850

Thanks a milion for the link. I already posted a reply there.

This issue hopefully will resolve itself there.
