| StefikMichal:
Hello, I have specific question. On Ebay I found this listing: eBay auction: #https://www.ebay.com/itm/325347412207?hash=item4bc03788ef:g:2DMAAOSwPgFjJg8N Do you think that it is fixable? (ofc not by replacing everything ;D or if it's worth the risk) I've read about some NAND corruptions on Agilent/Keysight scopes, but I don't know, if it is probably this case. Seller states it as "at all in contact with the mains it does not work, the fan does not start, it does not show signs of ignition" |

That doesn't sound like NAND corruption, otherwise it would at least start to boot (and then get stuck). So probably an actual hardware defect. Fixable? Probably. Easily fixable? Maybe, maybe not. :-// |

Most probably internal power supply unit has failed, that's easily replaceable with a good 13V power supply block. My Aliglent mso3014a has failed twice with smoke and flash in this power unit (bad circuit design, there is a thread about it), I repaired it, and in a year it failed again, then I replaced it with meanwell unit, now it works fine. Agreed. Sounds like a broken power supply. But there is a slight possibility somebody has already opened it, tried to repair it and didn't attach the power supply cable. Buying broken equipment is always a gamble so don't pay too much. Especially since this DSO isn't very special to begin with. The current bid price is already at the limit of what is a sane price to pay and likely the price will go up do to auction fever. |

So, price is now at 200 € + 46 € shipping and that means I probably won't bid anymore. But thanks for answers. |
