My old Tektronix 2213 fell off the shelf and now it's doing this:

Start with the Tek troubleshooting PDF, you can find a link to it in the sticky in the Repair board.

I would inspect it first and reseat all cables, especially look at CRT section, remove metal rear cover and make sure connector to CRT neck is seated correctly and didn't break. Check side deflection plates wire to CRT. Be careful with HV supply and discharge capacitors first. Look at PCB for cracks. At least amplifiers seem to work. Could be damage misaligned deflection plates in the CRT

Maybe the horizontal mode switch is set to to delayed.

Can you take a photo of the entire front panel please?
Need to confirm the settings first before we move to inside the unit.

Beam finder button stuck ?
Michel.

+1, beam finder. I have seen a few cases that the button work but the inners are stuck.

Beam finder button might have got stuck in the process

The trace appears to be compressed - the sweep speed is 0.2ms per div and there are two cycles of the 1kHz cal signal visible which would be correct.
Does pressing beam find change the display?

Yes pressing the beam finder button changes the display, pressing the button does what you would expect it to do.

My suggestion will be to go over the alignment procedure which is detailed in the manual. Maybe start at the horizontal amplifier setting.

I wonder if the shock of the fall popped one or more trimmer pot caps. I had that happen to my 2213, spontaneously, a few years ago, just sitting on the bench, so I believe they are fragile. The loose part may not rattle around if it has been captured by a wiring harness. I think there is another thread here where someone has had the same problem (can't put my finger on it at the moment).

+1 to that. I pulled the vertical amplifier board, turn it upside down and 3 tops of the trimpods fell on the table. I have replaced all them, seem very fragile.

when a scope fall down that can easy destroy the CRT.
times ago I buyed a Tek222A what was bad handled by the post, the picture was horrible.
It was not possible to find any defect part, so the little CRT is gone in the X-RAY to look what`s the matter.

Sorry to bring up a very old thread - Just wondering if OP solved
his their issue.
I am actually facing the same problem on my own 2213 with the horizontal sweep not meeting the edges, then again I just bought it... Will need to start my own repair thread haha.
EDIT: Gender neutral fix
