BSIDE ESR02 ESR/SMD Tester - I can't calibrate
« on: April 08, 2023, 10:27:31 am »
I bought a BSIDE ESR02Pro (DTU-1701 V3.1 FW v1.11k) a few days ago. However, in battery or 12 V mode, I can not calibrate (shorting of 3 terminals) it and can not get into the menu. Later, the display randomly lights up when I measure the capacitor. Before taking a new measurement, I always have to disconnect the instrument from the battery/socket for a while to get a new measurement after pressing the button.

Any advise what can be wrong? Where can I download the latest FW preferably from the author i.e. "?.??m".

The tester is not protected against voltages above 5v.
So if you measured a charged capacitor the Atmega chip will be destroyed...
If only the firmware is bad you can flash it via the unpopulated header on the PCB.
There is updated firmware available in this large thread linked below.
If you want the original firmware I linked a post where I uploaded it.
