I just ordered one today... Dawn in customer service told me they had 25 coming in within 5-7 days, and 17 were already spoken for... I guess I am #18.  She said they are going quick.

That's not much more than I paid for the Rigol DS1052E before the price plummeted!

Hi,

and what is the difference between Rigol DS2072 and Rigol DS1102E?

even when 1102 is 100Mhz, the lowert price I understand that isn't better than 2072, but I don't know/saw what...

regards
Gus

Do a tiny bit of research, my friend. Much bigger screen; intensity graded display; ton's more memory; much faster waveform capture; bus decoding; the list goes on and on.

Edit: Oh yeah... and Dave's video (thanks Harvs)  ;D

Looks like it is a slower boat from China than I thought.... the TEquipment shipping date for the DS2072 has been changed from 6/21 to 6/26.

I would wait for the DS2000-S with arbitrary waveform generator. It looks even better than DSOX2000's generator.

There is a huge difference between the DS1102E and a DS2072:

DS1102E - 100MHz, 2 Channels, 1GSa 1CH / 500MSa 2CH, 1M 1CH / 500K 2CH, 15-85 wfms/s ?, 5.6" 320x234, 2mV - 10V

DS2072 - 70MHz, 2 Channels, 2GSa 1CH / 1GSa 2CH, 14M 1CH / 7M 2CH, 56M 1CH / 28M 2CH Optional, 50K wfms/s, 8.0" 800x480, 500uV - 10V

To summarize, twice the sample rate, 14 to 56 times the memory, 500 times the waveform update speed, 42% larger screen, 5 times the pixels (384000 vs 74880), and lower vertical voltages (500uV, 1mV) assuming I have all this info right...

I'm looking to purchase the DS2072, though i'm also tempted to wait for the S version. Would prefer to purchase in Aus. for service and warranty reasons.

Can anyone recommend a seller? Any give discounts to EEVBlog forum members?

So far i've found these two sellers, Emona and "EYou".

Funny that EYou lists the Waveform Acquisition Rate as 65,000 Waveforms per Second - which is wrong: they have it mixed up with the maximum number of frames which can be recorded.

Emona are excellent.  Depending on where you are, you can order it and pick it up from one of their sales offices to skip the postage charges (and it's nice to collect expensive items from a shop.)  While I've never had to try it, I'm sure the after sales warranty support from them will be excellent since there main customer is industry.

As for eYou, I've no experience with them.  But when I was thinking about ordering through them I read there warranty policy, and I tend to get worried about any Australian store than states that their warranty replaces all other express or implied warranties.  The fact is this statement is total BS, and they are legally bound to certain implied warranty conditions if they are an Australian company.

Also just be aware that both these prices are Ex. GST, and expect a wait like everyone is experiencing getting the 2072.  I know Emona had the 100MHz version in stock though when I ordered.

Thanks Harvs!

Looks like Emona might be the best choice.

I'm in Brissy and it looks like Emona have an office in Rocklea, about 20mins from me!

+1! I hear you, I had a big run-in with Panasonic not so long ago over a $4000 plasma that died with an irreparable fault after 14 months. I now know my Consumer Guarantee Law well, and the unit was replaced in the end.
