I'm pretty new to electronics, I picked up a BWD 820 scope today for $30, i figured it was too cheap to pass up.
I was following the first time operation steps in the manual, but the probe doesn't fit in the calibration socket. The probe is a Tektronix P6112. Is that the correct probe? Should I have a different probe?

Welcome to the forum.
Does the probe have the grabber attached, you can pull it off.
Do you have the hardcopy, here's the pdf version if you haven't got it.

Thanks, thats the same manual as the hardcopy i got with the scope. I worked out that the probe has a removable grabber.
