WTF ! :palm: My DMM6500 just arrived and first thing first, I wanted to update the device to the last firmware revision, but...after registering ( i'm from Europe) : In compliance with U.S. Government regulation, Tektronix is required to review all software download activity. This process may take up to one U.S. business day and you will be notified when the process is complete. We apologize for any inconvenience. If you have any questions, please contact us at Software Download Request. If you need immediate assistance, please contact one of our regional call centers (Error Code 2): Again..WTF !! In my job I deal with other companies that don't permit to download firmware by just connecting to their website, like Cisco, but it's not likely I'm buying as a private a 300.000 USD MDS or Nexus device, so I can understand the meaning of the restriction while here I cannot. Anyone in the forum has a secure link to the 1.7.5 version file ? ::) Thank you A. |

Will PM you a link in a second. I think i just used an account from bugmenot (http://bugmenot.com/view/tek.com) rather than bothering to register, and it just worked. |

I bought a 2281S PSU recently, it was made in late February and came with old firmware installed. I also hit this just to download the current firmware. Ended up just registering with a different e-mail address and said I was in the USA. I had an e-mail to that address today, asking how I was getting on with the KickStart software, and did I want a quote for a licence. I have been waiting for ~3 weeks now for the "This process may take up to one U.S. business day and you will be notified when the process is complete." to actually happen. Suspect nothing really happens behind the scenes. Now if Tek could fix the fan noise on the 2281S PSU that would be good too. It starts off slow during boot, then ramps up once it's booted, so is controllable. |
