Change trace colors of DS1054Z oscilloscope (firmware hack)
« on: March 05, 2022, 01:49:58 am »
Hi,

Since the DS1054Z has been hacked before, I was curious to know if somebody found out where in the firmware the colors of the traces are stored.

Did anybody have success with this? Would you have to updated some CRC or other values such that this "color hacked" firmware could be uploaded to the scope?

There is a firmware hack to clean-up the fonts on the menus.  Mostly to use the same font-face I believe.  It also changed the background shading on the menus.

I'm not aware of a hack to change the trace colors.
I wished the dark blue trace was green.  However, I believe the MSO channels use green.  Not sure, I don't have the MSO version.

I believe it's in the hugh Sniffing the Rigol's internal I2C bus topic (near the end).
