Cheap handheld serial analyzer?

(1/2) > >>

There are lots of times I'm working on a project and I need to watch UART, SPI, or I2C traffic (or maybe even generate it). Instead of plugging a USB device into my PC and running software, I'd love to have a handheld device with an LCD and test leads that can do the job. It seems that a cheap, hobby-grade device would be easy to make, and yet I can't find such a thing for sale.

Is anyone aware of a device like this?

Thanks,
   Bob

There's probably a way to use an Arduino to do this...

yes a nice tactile user interface on top of a bus pirate would do it... who starts it ?

What's needed is a port of LogicSniffer to android.
