I want to check to see how much conducted EMI there is on the power to my test bench. A LISN appears to be intended to for testing EMI produced by the DUT. In my case I'm concerned about noise pickup by the house wiring which is unshielded romex.
I'm inclined to capactively couple my SA input to the power line with a small capacitor and a resistive divider. I do *not* want to blow out my 8560A so I intend to limit the line frequency component to +10 dBm or less, verified with a scope before connecting to the SA. The 8560A damage level is +30 dBm.
Comments? Anyone with experience doing this sort of a test? I plan to test all the electrical devices in the house one at a time and filter any which produce detectable noise at my bench location.
