BK Precision 4003 function generator
« on: February 14, 2014, 01:39:21 am »
Has anybody had any experience with the BK Precision 4003 function generator?  I am upgrading my equipment and am interested in buying one of these.  One of the reasons for my interest is the digital display.  It also can operate as a frequency counter.  Thanks!

I would say you're better off getting an Agilent/HP 33120A off Ebay.  The BK retails for around $250 in the US, but you can a used Agilent off Ebay for around $400 in pretty good condition.  It goes up to 15 MHz, and has a boatload more features than the BK, including noise generation, and arbitrary waveform capability.

Cheers,
-Tim

Definitely. I own one, and it is a FANTATIC instrument. Much better than any Chinese POS.
I'm not saying we should kill all stupid people. I'm just saying that we should remove all product safety labels and let natural selection do its work.

I have an older BK 4040A 20Mhz function/sweep generator which has been totally solid and reliable, holds calibration very well, and is fast to use.
