Choice between 2 oscilloscope
(1/1)
Alpha centauri:
I'm an aspiring electronics engineer and about to purchase my first oscilloscope. I have 2 oscilloscope that my budget can cover but I can't seem to make a decision on which one of them will be the best for me. The first is the Siglent SDS2352X-E(350MHZ,$839,Not touchscreen,2 channel). The second is the Siglent SDS2104X plus(100MHZ,$999,Touchscreen, 4 channel).
I mainly want to buy an oscilloscope to troubleshoot Audio amplifiers. If I eventually choose the 100MHz over the 350MHz oscilloscope, what range of analog electronics/type of circuit will I be limited to test/troubleshoot? Please, which one of the two scopes do you personally advice me to get? I would appreciate it if you guys would answer me. Thanks.

If you can afford it absolutely go with SDS2104X+. You will need 4 Ch more than BW, and it has signal gen in it that does Bode plots. It also have large touchscreen, 10 bit Hires mode etc.. It is more than one level up as a platform than SDS2352X-E. A stock SDS2104X+ has almost 200 Mhz BW anyways, and every single one can unlock 500MHZ BW with software unlock license. Read about this a bit.
In short, SDS2104X+ is much better choice..
