ssa3032x reflection bridge alternative?
« on: January 09, 2018, 07:55:31 am »
I am in search for an alternative to the original reflection bridge (RBSSA3X20) that goes up to 3,2 GHz.
In the datasheet the insertion loss is given with 5 dB typ. and the directivity with 20 dB typ. .
Those values seem to confirm that it is a reflection bridge and not a directional coupler.

The question is if it is possible to use an e.g. Minicircuits directional coupler aswell or can anybody suggest an appropriate alternative?

One of the best value bridges in this frequency range I've found to be a second hand Wiltron 60N50. Can be found for about £200 on ebay.

They are specified for 5 ... 2000 MHz, but the two we have here are very good to 3.2GHz.

Specification is 40dB directivity for the standard bridge, 46dB for an option.

These here do 35dB to 3.2 GHz. 13dB insertion loss.

We are waiting on an SSA3032X, impressed by the general performance of the ones we've tried.
