| Coax Cable Selection for HP 37203A HPIB Extender |
| (1/1) |
| ZGoode:
Hi y'all, I'm trying to figure out what kind of coax cable to use for my pair of 37203A. The manual says to use coax with 75ohm impedance and a resistance of at most 4ohm/100m. The obvious choice seems like it would be RG6, and I was planning on just taking a 100ft antenna extension cable, but from what I could find is that most RG6 likely does not meet the resistance specification. What (cheaper) cable types should I be looking at here? |
| squadchannel:
The manual specifies Belden 9248 as the recommended cable; DCR is 6.4ohm/1000ft, so I assume it will work. |
| ZGoode:
Oh, nice. I don't know how I missed that. What page did you see that on? The specs I was looking at were on page 3-2. |

check sattelite cable such as CT100 the core conductor and air-space insulator are pretty much the same as RG6 but the outer shielding is much better. copper braid followed by copper foil. |
