Connectorless probes for oscilloscopes/logic analyzers

(1/1)

_sakiv:
Hi

I am using one of Xilinx's development boards (Spartan 3A) and it has multiple options for using Agilent connector less probes for debugging using a Logic Analyzer.

I do not have a logic analyzer with me but I need to still debug the circuit. I have a Rigol DS1102E oscilloscope but the probes that come with the scope do not fit the bill here. The ground alligator clip is perfectly useless for this operation.

Could anyone please advise the right action to take in this scenario ? I googled for cheap connectorless probes but couldn't find anything except for Agilent or Tektronix. The only option that I see is using single jumper wires in each hole but that is not good for sampling data as the wires are loose inside the tiny holes making for unreliable sampling.

I appreciate the help.

Regards

I’m not sure what you are trying to do, but can’t you connect an FX2 Breadboard to the Development board and then change your design to also output the signals of interest on the FX2 edge connector.  This way you could arrange multiple test points and add extra LED’s etc.

Sure I can do that for my current Spartan 3A board which has an FX2 connector. That does sound like a good idea to solve my current problem.

However, I was still looking for a generic solution for connectionless probes if anyone had any suggestions.
