Title: Create a full wave
Post by: BlueBill on February 16, 2015, 04:55:46 pm
How would you create a full wave waveform for a Rigol signal generator? Not familiar with how UltraWave works, are there any tutorials?

I've never used a signal generator, but can you chain function blocks? For instance could you feed a sine wave through an absolute value function to rectify it?

Rectified sinewave (with ideal rectifier) is something like attached image. 5 cycles 10V sinewave rectified.

I do not know how to do it with Rigol generator but with Siglent just write equation:
abs(10*(sin(5*x)))

10 is for voltage (if property setting was default 20Vpp (-10 to +10V)) and 5 is count of cycles.

|and of course without rectifier same sinewave: 10*(sin(5*x)) |

In example used 5 cycle was just for this image.
(Normally with arb generator it is best to do only one cycle)
