I haven't been able to locate any *special* Cyber Monday deals for bench/test equipment. I was hoping that Tequipment would have SOMETHING on sale.
Anyone know of any?
I'm still looking for a bench power supply and a function generator. And various ICs, passives and power supplies.

You could always call them and ask. :-)

I had an online 'chat' with tequipment this morning. I asked if there were any Cyber Monday deals and they said no. Then I asked about the EEVBLOG discount, they confirmed the code for 6% off, and ordered myself a DS1074Z (which are currently backordered.. shipment expected this week).

I think Black Friday and Cyber Monday generally target consumer products. The average end-user probably doesn't buy test equipment very often, if at all.

the average end-user wouldn't know what an oscilloscope was if you dropped one of those 7900 tek frames on their foot.

Congratulations! Let us know how you like it, once you get a chance to use it.

If your willing to spend over $200 zorotools has a 30% max of $2,000 off with free shipping.
Their site can be a pain to navigate but they carry some Agilent and Fluke.
code: cyber13

Yippie! They have an isolation transformer for $203.00 http://www.zorotools.com/g/Isolation%20Transformers/00106273/ (http://www.zorotools.com/g/Isolation%20Transformers/00106273/) which will do nicely!

Must be just a regular clearance discount then.

The average end user would refuse to use an oscilloscope because it requires learning something and has knobs.

Yes, the rep mentioned the special on Fluke equipment, but he said it wasn't a 'cyber Monday' special.

Good point, but someone buys from these equipment vendors (look at the group here! :)) .. so why not jump on the Cyber Monday bandwagon?
Saelig is actually running some Cyber "week" specials.. a few Owon scopes on sale, and a GW Instek, I think.

Thanks, JohnnyGringo. The last time I touched an oscilloscope was in a high school electronics class back in the 80's. I'll share my impressions after I've used it a bit.. hopefully they'll be competent, but they won't be nearly as valuable as the input from guys like Marmad! I don't even have an overwhelming need for a scope.. for me it's going to be a learning tool. For the price of a few textbooks, I can get something pretty handy like the DS1074Z and use it to enhance my understanding of what goes on inside the circuits I build.
I've done some blinky things, some Arduino-based small robots, and some 555 circuits but I'm eager to build some classic analog circuits and probe them with the Rigol. I think seeing the visuals will really lend some insight into what the circuit is REALLY doing, and help to reinforce some of my weaknesses.

Likewise, for me, it has accelerated my learning process.
