DC Electronic Load Korad KEL103 reverse polarity
(1/1)
MrYakimovYA:
Hello!
I can't find anything about subj: what will with my Korad KEL103 do if I reverse polarity at binding post? I.e. does KEL103 failed if I connect the + of my source to - of the load and - of my source to the + of the load? User Manual says nothing about it. I have super brand Fujitsu DC Electronic Load at my work. There is a back connected diode at the binding post and reversing polarity does not harm it. So what with the Cnineese instrument?
GigaJoe:
would it be possible to test with some resistor as a safety
BILLPOD:
Using the continuity feature of your DMM, see if your negative banana jack, (black one), is connected to your earth ground, (green jack) :-DMM
HKJ:
Generally DC load to not handle reverse polarity, there will most likely be about a diode drop in reverse voltage (From the diode in a MOSFET transistor).
You can use an external high current bridge rectifier to improve that situation.
