Hallo,
what are the difference between RTM3k-COM4 and RTA4k-COM4?
So far I only found 6 distinction.
1. The timebase accuracy:
For RTM3k-COM4:
After delivery/calibration, at +23 °C ±2.5 ppm
During calibration interval ±3.5 ppm
For RTA4k-COM4:
After delivery/calibration, at +23 °C ±0.5 ppm
During calibration interval ±1.0 ppm
2. The memory:
For RTM3k-COM4:
40 Msample/(logic) channel
200 Msample in segmented
memory mode/(logic) channel
For RTA4k-COM4:
100 Msample/(logic) channel
500 Msample in segmented memory
mode/(logic) channel
3. DC gain accuracy
4. Counter: 6 vs 7 Digit
5. The cost.
6. The name.

These should contain all your answers. The brochures do some side by side comparison charts between the different models as well.

Hallo,
thanks. I read the paper already and find the stated differences.
I want to know whether it exists more differences.

I thought the RTA had a lower noise floor but I can't remember where I found that. Considering the COM4 deal difference is only 2k, I think the listed items are probably about right.

I would just contact R&S and ask them. There may be no one here that actually has a RTA4000. One would have to be very familiar with both devices to know what undocumented differences there are between them, if such things exist. There really is no reason to assume R&S is trying to hide the specifications of either device. I would assume the memory specifications are the main difference, and reason for the different price points.
You could try reading the firmware notes also. Its possible that there are firmware differences between them, depending on the update cycle.

Hello,
now i found another difference.
The probes in the RTM3k are R&S RT-ZP05 but the probes in RTA3k are R&S RT-ZP10
The probes R&S RT-ZP10 come without BNC Adapter. Why?
