Gotta say - I had a better impression of Uni-T gear before I saw this thread.  It's a bit desperate feeling.

It's just a bit tacky... No real information or discourse, just another wall of marketing rhetoric to ignore.

Basically crap yes, I've decided no Uni-T equipment was staying here (other than real bargains to resell ASAP) since I looked in the first piece of their junk that reached my hands.
Sorry but all the effort put into this topic by UTGMBH won't be enough to convince me otherwise...

He can no longer do that (banned), but then the thread should also be closed.

Unwillingly, accidentally, my eyes brushed over this.

All (most/ a large number?) automotive manuafcturers are "leading" in some way or other.
Equipment is chosen for one of four reasons.
A) Has capabilities no one else does.
B) Price!!!
C) "Someone" got a free trip to <insert destination here>
D) Price
Ok...that four :)

Uni-T are getting into a high end stuff. They just sent a $5k function gen  :o
Shame they spammed.
Released an unboxing video for Patrons and supporters already.
Also shot an interview thing at the Uni-T distributor stand at the Electronex show. Was surprised at the stuff they coming out with soon.

Well, technically their new 4CH 500MHz function gen they just sent doesn't have any competition, so, maybe?  :-//

They are upping the game indeed. There's the MSO7000X series with 10GS/s, 1Gpts and 2.5GHz bandwidth, a 26GHz signal analyzer... They also have a couple of allegedly good oscilloscopes, Kerry Wong has a quite favourable review of one of them.

The main problem I see is that, apart from that signal generator, they have a problematic reputation to overcome, and their devices are often more expensive than Siglent and Rigol.

But yeah, I'm all in for a real competitor in the entry level. Higher level, well, I'll stick with second-hand boat anchors.

And Uni-T are doing custom ASIC's too. So Rigol, Siglent and now Uni-T are all very serious players.
