BEM 002 Electronic Voltmeter Kit - manual or any info?
« on: July 09, 2014, 05:10:19 pm »
I have an (apparently obscure) Analog Electronic Voltmeter dated around mid 60's or early 70's. It is branded as BEM 002 Electronic Voltmeter and I've found very little information on the web (if not any).

It was given to me by a now sk ham. It came as a Kit but I received it already assembled. It has a I.R.U. member logo stamped on the front panel.

It has a couple of tubes inside. It mostly works and seems quite accurate and in good shape, but some functions need to be adjusted. I would like to make it operational. I am attaching a photo.

If anybody has any information of it, schematic, manual, specs, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you, Charlie.

Looks like a decent little meter, being a VTVM the input impedance is constant unlike a standard VOM.

Interesting. Made by MBLE in Brussels (capital of Belguim), which were a part of Philips Belgium. They also had a lot of other kits:

Very cute for a VTVM. Try this:

Paul an Andy,

Thank you very much for the information! I really appreciate it. I am looking to the french version of the manual which at least I can follow.

But listen to this! In the brochures Paul posted, I can see the audio oscillator (BEM 004) and the oscilloscope (BEM 016). My dad, also a ham, has BOTH of them. In fact, he still uses the oscillator and I still, but rarely, use the scope! But I never realized that they all have the same origin. I know that my dad doesn't have the VOM, so the info provided is very important, but I will tell him the story and for sure bookmark these pages.

By what I can see the VOM has some interesting specs. I'll try to make it fully operational and use it when required.

BTW, how do you find these things online?

Thanks aganin, Charlie.
