DMM other than Flukes that chirp on diode/transistor test?
jayjr1105:
I ended up grabbing a Uni-T UT161B on Amazon on sale for $60 shipped. It does in fact have a diode chirp when testing a good junction, and also has a continuous beep for shorted. Continuity is fast but as @eevblog reported in his video of the UT161E+ the stupid visual LED for continuity is not tied to the buzzer but to the display. (I agree Dave, big fail).
Wytnucls:
The old UT71A can also beep repetitively for a voltage, which falls below a threshold set by the user, in diode mode.
It still sells today for about 120 USD.

This UT161B is rather unimpressive in a lot of other aspects. The diode chirp is exactly what I wanted but man the autoranging is so slow and the release lag of the continuity is so annoying. Maybe I'm being too picky. Otherwise on paper is such a good meter. They even have a real beefy HRC fuse and much better input protection now. I wonder with bi-directional communication built in now if it will be "hackable" or firmware upgrade-able.
netsecrets00:
Do we have list for DMM which beeps on diode mode ?
BeBuLamar:
And I thought all of them do!
