Title: Do you have a dso-shell? What about other inexpensive gadgets like signals?
Post by: Larryc001 on January 10, 2020, 12:03:26 am
I have been reorganizing my lab lately, and have found a use for my little dso-shell. It is very useful for checking equipment and cables. I  also have little pulse generators. These items are very inexpensive. I would like to know what other items are being used, what they are being used for, and how you liked them. Any comments would be most welcome.

Could you explain how it is useful for checking cables, do you have a normal full-size oscilloscope? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33027421826.html (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33027421826.html)

This USB board is nice for testing USB-C or probing various parts: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33014406002.html (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33014406002.html)
The only thing I can think of its missing is a current shunt resistor. But you can get a dedicated USB power analyzer too.
The cheap $10 logic analzyers are incredibly useful: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000257258147.html (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000257258147.html)
Stlink/bluepill boards.

Yes I have full-sized oscilloscopes. Really full sized.

In rewiring  my lab it is useful to have a tester to carry around to check that I am getting output routed to various instruments. Also very useful where a scope is required that can be fully isolated from ground. But I confess I don’t do anything that is sophisticated or even from this century. Just fun.
