I received a brand new DP832 power supply from Telonic Instruments (UK) on Tuesday and like others on this forum after a quick check I added the required keys to upgrade the unit.
It came with:
Digital version 00.01.10.00.03
Analogue version 01.02.02
Boot version 01.09
Then I noticed that channels 2 and 3 were not working properly but I could not remember if had been working before I had added the keys. Both channels showed UR instead of CV or CC.
I checked with Telonic and they agreed it was faulty and even offered to do(http://) a next day swap-out but in all honesty and with no way of removing the keys I could not take them up on their offer.
So I had to find the fault and fix it my-self. I new the problem had to be on the bottom board so I opened up the unit and did some probing with my trusty multimeter. They PCB is nicely marked with a load of test points and I soon found that the -15 volt supply was missing so I had to remove the bottom board to track the problem down.
It turned out that one of the legs of the -15 volt regulator had been poorly soldered, all other joints looked perfect so a quick touch-up with the iron soon shorted that out.
After carefully reassembling all channels work perfectly and I am a happy bunny.
The morale of this tale is to leave your new equipment a few days or even weeks before installing any updates!
