Questions about the ZT-703S
« on: September 24, 2024, 07:18:52 pm »
I just got my first oscilloscope yesterday, the ZT-703S, and have been digging through the settings as well as the premade folders on USB mode. I see the USB mode has a folder called `Application` and 4 slots in the extended applications menu for more applications. I would like to know if anyone knows what custom applications exist or at least what format they are in. I'm trying to find an application that lets me save the oscilloscope measurements over time as a wav file so I can import it onto my laptop for further analysis (e.g. decoding serial to binary). The only files I can find are the firmware files, `ZOYI-703S-FW-V142.ZTK` and `ZOYI-703S-FW-V139.ZTK`. Currently I'm unable to determine what format the files are in, but suspect they are just raw binary for the STM32F401 microcontroller which identifies itself on USB mode via lsusb.

Are there custom applications for the ZT-703S and how can I find or make one for saving measurements as wav format?

lsusb:
Code: [Select]
0483:572a STMicroelectronics STM32F401 microcontroller [ARM Cortex M4] [CDC/ACM serial port]

I appreciate the link, however, the only mention what I'm looking for is someone else who is annoyed by not being able to save in the wav format in that thread. https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/new-zoyi-multimeteroscilloscopes-zt-70xs-up-to-50mhz250msps-(nov-2022)/msg5400746/?topicseen#msg5400746

I did contact Zotek yesterday about it, so hopefully they'll email me to help out with adding this feature

Good luck ... hope they respond to you.

In case they don't, perhaps post your question in that thread?

Hello. I have been solving this problem for many years. Manufacturers probably do not know what a technician needs. I do not have this model yet, I am considering buying it.
I agree with the original question:
- what is the memory size for saving a Single waveform? The PDF manual ZT-703S says 128kB.
Does this mean that it is possible to export 128,000 scanned samples via USB to a file on a PC? What format are the samples in? .TXT, .CSV? Scrolling (horizontal curve shift) is usually missing and exporting samples to a PC will solve this.
- there is no information in the manual about the possibility of exporting samples to a PC via USB.
- information about the memory size is vague for most manufacturers, it does not correspond to reality or they even confuse kb and kB.
I see many users of this model ZT-703S, has anyone solved this problem?
Thank you, mpcz, 30dec2024

A measurement equipment manufacturer does not know what a technical needs? The same than they need to design and test their devices.

I don't know what you see on those Tamagotchi.  Controlling the buttons is simply a disaster, if only they had put an encoder there.  1013D is also terrible in terms of input sensitivity, but the touch control brings incredible simplicity and joy.  Plus bmp and wav files or RTC data in the file
FNIRSI 1013D Always provide a picture or video with the problem where the parameters of the oscilloscope are visible, and a picture of the diagnostic screen with the values.
