Tektronix ISF file viewer
« on: October 13, 2017, 04:17:12 am »
Hi group,

Some Tektronix scopes have the ability to save the raw acquisition data. The file format is called ISF.

This is different than storing screen shots, if you load the ISF data back into the scope, you can scroll through the data like you had just acquired it.

I am looking for an application that allows me to look at this data on a pc. I would like the same controls, zoom in, zoom out, pan etc.

I can load the files back into the scope and do this, but I would prefer to do on a pc.

I downloaded the Tektronix Open Choice Desktop. It doesn't see to have the controls needed.

Another limitation is that you can only load one waveform at a time.

The files I have are huge, 39MB for each trace captured with a 20 mega sample depth. I have a Tektronix MDO4104-3.

Anybody know of anything?

Thanks,

I've looked at that problem a couple of weeks ago. There is a software package from Tektronix called TekScope Anywhere but it costs as a scope  :( . You can open a file in OpenChoice Desktop and save it as a CSV, or you can actually save raw data from the scope as CSV and use Excel. It limits the length to 1M records though.

Cheers

Alex and the group,

I downloaded the Tekscope Anywhere software, I obtained the trial license. It looks like it has the desired functionality. I didn't see any limit, I was able to view my 20M records.

Much better than OpenChoice.

Thank you !
