E.S.I model 2150 Video bridge (LCR) help needed.
Paceguy:
Does anyone here have any knowledge and experience with E.S.I 2150 / 2160 video bridges? I was given one that blows the main power fuse. I would suspect the power supply or CRT circuitry could be the culprit. To get at these involves a major teardown. Are these units known for any common failures that I should check first? Hopefully it's a common and easy to find part and not something specialized that's only available through E.S.I.

Some time ago I posted all the ESI 2150/2160 service manual on the KO4BB website.
Due to the big size it is divided into chapters (1 file per chapter).
Chapter # 4 (Calibration and Maintenance) ended up in a different folder, I don't know why.
With the schematics it will be easier for you to find the fault.
Paceguy:
A bit of an update: I opened it up, went to the power supplies. I found a shorted 1N5832 schottky stud type diode and horizonal output transistor, 2N6543 is also totally shorted. Luckily I have some NOS ECG 283 horizontal output transistors since many suppliers no longer stock horz. output transistors. I checked all the other components on both boards and couldn't find anything else. Popped in a new fuse and still a problem. Fuse opens but doesn't blow as bad ( black ). Any ideas?

I know is is an ancient post, but, did you ever resolve this?
I have the same problem.
Paceguy:
I put the 2150 aside for some time and ordered some replacement parts last week and they arrived today. I plan to open it up and give it another try. I will post updates shortly.
