| E-Z-Hook banana connectors too large |
| (1/1) |
| nedeb:
I bought a bunch of Pomona and E-Z-Hook cables for my "lab". The banana connectors from Pomona fit well in all devices but the E-Z-Hook plugs seem too large, they're hard to insert in devices to the point that I'm afraid of damaging the device connectors. Is it a known thing? Are these E-Z-Hook banana plugs not meant for plugging in DMMs, PSUs, etc? (To be accurate I should say the E-Z-Hook are too rigid rather than too large: according to my caliper the plugs are only 4.6mm thick compared to 4.8mm for the Pomona). |

Hi, You mean those plugs, right ? https://e-z-hook.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/9202.pdf They should fit on 4mm sockets well, with a little bit of "force" because of the spring loaded tip. Unfortunately some sockets are having more depth than other.... I think the only "standard" are the 4mm diameter... |

I like Johnson (Cinch) banana plugs. I have used them for many years. https://tubedepot.com/products/banana-plug-solderless-johnson-made |

I have cables with stackable plugs so this one: https://e-z-hook.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/9260.pdf but it seems the male connector is exactly the same as for the 9202 plug. Thanks for the picture, good to know the socket lengths are not standard! The E-Z-Hooks don't feel as bad now, maybe I got used to it already... A little twist helps a lot when it's a bit tight. |
