Keysight U1733C data protocol
« on: September 08, 2022, 07:34:56 am »
Hi.
Would like to ask if someone has Keysight U1733C meter with U5481B data cable and could help me answer couple questions.

    • If cable is emulating serial port? - Software require PL2303 driver so most likely yes.
    • Is protocol known and available?

I would like to use that meter for some automated capacitance tests.

    Thanks in advance,
    Krzysztof

I'm not sure but I think all information about the communication protocol are more or less reverse engineered.
The Keysight forum has some information about it. I tried it years ago but I use my U1733C mostly as a handheld.

Hi Kilobyte

I know it is a longshot, but do you happen to have the SCPI commands?
The keysight forums are removed, and together with it the information....

Thanks!

I can't seem to find a "programming guide" as KS / Agilent / HP typically call them. Might be an odd command set?

Someone with a serial monitor and the comm cable could probably snoop the commands going over the serial port maybe?

Well it didn't do that when I tested it...
