Electronic load with low shunt capacitance
(1/1)
KlausKragelund:
Hi
I have a Tenma 72-13210 and a Kunkin KP184 electronic load
I do a fair amount of gain/phase measurements of power supplies, and I would like a load that does not add capacitance to the output
The Tenma adds 4.5uF and the Kunkin 2uF, so they will affect the loop (I spew noise back)
Normally the output is steady voltage wise, so I do not need fast response, more like a feedforward type, like an old style pass transistor load, with none or very little feedback
Voltage is from 1V to 60V, load 1mA to 10A
Does such a ready made instrument exist?
Regards
Klaus

I am probably late with the answer (also got Tenma, yes, it has 4.5uF across the input), but what if you will desolder the input capacitor?
The side effect could be that the load will start to oscillate in come cases or become unstable, but if in your case it will not do that, then I guess you could use it.
