Title: EXTECH 22-816 Resistance Calibration
Post by: Dale1Paul on January 17, 2019, 06:30:26 pm
My EXTECH 22-186 multimeter resistance with the probes crossed reads between .4 and .5 ohms.  Can one of the VR be adjusted to bring this down to zero?  I've worked as a hobby and JOB in electronics since I was a pre-teen, so have experience working on such devices, plus I'm a general ham radio operator.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, thank you. Nothing wrong with 0.4 or 0.5 ohms.  You can try cleaning your probe tips and input jacks with IPA or you can try a different set of probes to see if you get the same result.

On most of my meters, I get between 0.1 and 0.2 ohms.  The crappier ones can go as high as 0.8 ohms.

That does make me feel comfortable with the meter and probes.  Thanx.
