Hello to everyone. I bought an Hantek DSO 3064 KIT IV from an online reseller. I need to say I was impressed with the packaging and accessories that came with it.
The case is strong and well paded , test leads, back probes, aligator clip and everything was great.
Then came the problems.
I plugged the usb cable, installed the driver and software and tried to use it.
If I start the software with usb cable plugged in, it won't launch.
If I start the software with usb unplugged, it will launch in demo mode.
If I plug the usb back in after the software was launch, it says "searching device" forever.....
I tried both version 1.0.10 and 1.0.7 and both do the same thing.
I tried winXP 32bits, win7 64bits, and both do the same.
Last detail, on the facing board, there's a dso-3074 stamped... yes 3074. The unit is supposed to be 3064. I searched Hantek's web site and there's no such thing as dso-3074.

Is there a way to know if this unit is a fake ?

You could open the unit and check if there is a real PCB board inside, or if it the housing is completely empty.

Btw, did a short search for images and all of them seem to say DSO 3064 for what is worth.

Dso306xxx rev 1.04... I didn't saw that before you point me this area.
Yeah I know every pics I saw too says 3064 but there are other differences like the 2 pictures I am posting here
Still weird that it's stamped dso3074
+ it still don't work
+ Hantek isn't replying to my emails...
The seller is helping me but he canot do much ... He's trying to contact Hantek on his side.
I don't want to get a replacement unit if it end up doing the same thing.
Its been 8 days now and I need to say Hantek service is disappointing me.
Anyone had to deal with them?

What does it show on your system under "Devices and Printers" or under "Device Manager"?
For example this is my Rigol connected without the drivers installed (DS2302).

To be fair, Hantek is basically the same quality as shops making fakes...

the funny this is that when I start the software, it doesn't show up until I disconnect the usb cable... (on all 3 computer I tried it)
isn't that a sign of memory management problem ?

Using Windows7 with 64 bit drivers, app V1.0.3 (1.0.7 will not run over usb). USB works. When I select LAN, 192.168.1.20, port 50000, the green LAN LED is on and the orange LAN LED blinks. I then get, Connection error!, Please restart. I unplug the USB, Uplug power. Then plug in power with the LAN connected and search LAN. It never connects.
With WIFI, the green LAN LED is off and the orange LAN LED is on. I can not see the DSO. I tried AD-HOC and an access-point.
I saw a mention of a WIFI manual. Could you post it for download for everyone.

Additional:I can ping the DSO so the ethernet address is in the correct range. It seems to connect, I need the USB AND the Ethernet connected. I then 'connect to LAN' and it will connect. I can then unplug the USB and it stays connected. If I power the DSO off and then on, it will NOT find the LAN.
For WIFI, the same, USB and WIFI to intially connect, but I loose my connection after a minute. The scope data, on the PC, never updates.
Additional:I went through the wifi manual. I can connect to the wifi WLANAP and the setup (192.168.1.254). After the network connects, I start the application V1.0.7 but it does not find the dso, I stays "searching..." (I remove the usb cable).
wired ethernet works intermitent. I can connect to the network, dso is 192.168.1.20. I start the app and file/connect. I hear one click, I can ping the dso and sometimes the waveform will update. When it does connect, I could stop and start the app and it reconnects. If I power off then on the dso, I cannot reconnect over ethernet. After this, It takes multiple trys to get ehthernet working again.

So what I take from this is to use app V1.0.3 or wifi
I only have USB port. and can get to find software ver 1.0.3
this is odd that they provide me a CD with the unit with ver 1.0.10, on their website 1.0.8 is available and I found 1.0.7 somewhere else... but no 1.0.3

I found some V1.03 here:

But for DSO1060, DSO1200 & DSO8060 and not sure if they are safe, use at your own risk. The site looks legit but not sure if they check what is uploaded there, so do a virus scan before running the installation.

Thanks a lot but DSO 3064 is an automotive diagnostic scope so software isn't the same as other scopes. I doubt this would work with my unit.
P.s. the online reseller just told me Hantek tried to email me but I didn't get anything (yes I checked spam folder) . they want pictures of the board to determine what version I got.
I guess they made different batches and forgot to update software???

this is the exact same problem I'm facing... EXACTLY the same. |O
in this (old) post Hantek is asking about LAN connection but these unit are shipped with USB port only by default.
LAN and WIFI are optional (which I didn't bought)

Ask your seller to see if he can get the 1.0.3 version at least to get you going.

Just asked him... A doubt that during weekends they will provide something. I might have to wait a few days again.
I should have bought a picoscope 4000 series. they cost 3x the $$ but I would be using it instead of complaining...

OK. So here are some updates. After a few emails exchange with Tina from Hantek company. She made me try some drivers and file, asked for videos and pictures of the unit. All this for nothing... It just wouldn't work so I returned the unit to the seller for a refund and bought another one from a seller in Toronto. This one came in 24h from UPS. Yes I paid 50$ more than the one from China but hey..... This one is working.
The covers of the unit are a bit different and most of all there's no 3074 stamped on it.
I don't know if it was a "genuine" unit or not . she never told me.
